The Shrine of Remembrance is a war memorial to all Victorian servicemen and women, and is an iconic Melbourne landmark. The Student Walk App includes a self guided, audio visual tour of the commemorative trees, statues and memorials as well as interviews with seven Victorian veterans. The tour and veteran stories explore varying themes of service and remembrance across a number of conflicts from the last one hundred years.
The Student Walk App has been developed with the generous support of Portland House and is most suitable for secondary students. A limited number of devices are available for student use through the Shrine, bookings are essential. Bookings for this and other school programs can be made through the Shrine website.
Please note: Core Shrine activities, such as ceremonies and other programs, may result in some tour locations being inaccessible.
The Shrine of Remembrance is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The building remains open to the public, however wheelchair access to the Sanctuary is unavailable and parts of the Shrine Reserve are inaccessible to all visitors. We apologise for any inconvenience at this time.
This App was developed with the generous support of the Portland House Foundation.
